20082008 was, in a nutshell, not the best year of my life. I've swinged from being in one horrible over-anxious episode to another and turned quite depressive and paranoid a lot in the worst of times.
There was that LHC thing, which was turned on in September 10th and we're all still here after that so thankfully the longest-running concern of the last year and a half was solved and I needn't worry about that ever again. Then there was personal guilt, got over it, life goes on. Then there was constant worry over my health and how long we have to live. I had a physical examination, turned out a-OK so I don't need to worry anymore, although that slightly still lingers...
So most of the year was a constant battle against anxiety and depression, not really coming out a pretty big winner by December 31st but as the year is about to end, I have very high hopes for 2009. Because, you know what they say, "every cloud has a silver lining". I think all I need now is a fresh start, to just pretend the worst of 2008 never happened and put that part of my past behind me and look forward and never look back!
The more positive parts of the year however, may not be too hard to count but they were still surprisingly fantastic for a year like this:

- My first air-travel holiday happened this year (Spain) was one of the best holidays ever
- Going to EuroDisney twice in one year was fantastic
- Discovered "Animal Crossing" and I loved it, eased me a lot during such psychologically hard times
- Became a fully-fledged fan of Nintendo
- Finally got Wi-Fi set up
- Got a SEGA Mega Drive after many years of playing with the idea of getting one myself somehow
- Made some more really wonderful friends, including some that actually work/have worked in the animation business
and
- Now finally getting myself to draw more than ever and get the habit back!
There may be more but as I don't have much more time to spare until I get downstairs for New Year's celebrations and there's very few more really notable "positive" things to occur so I may just leave it there.
I hope your 2008 didn't turn out as crappy as mine has been and I wish you all a very Happy New Year. As that's what it shall be: a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
